This workshop will address some common conditions that impact on the movement of the shoulder girdle and associated muscles. We will draw on basic massage techniques and mobilising skills to address conditions that we commonly see in the clinical setting. For example rotator cuff tightness, tension in the pectoral muscles, conditions that affect the function of lattisimus dorsi and the arms and neck. Using tools such as cupping, bolsters and resistance techniques can be invaluable in releasing deep seated tension in the musculature.
We will also look at how the positioning of the client on the massage table, can allow us to work more effectively for conditions such as thoracic outlet syndrome and deep tension of the serratus posterior superior, and rhomboid muscles.
Less perspiration and more inspiration I say!
