In this workshop participants will be introduced to some basic cupping techniques.

Cupping is an ancient Chinese therapy which began over 3,000 years ago and is used to support circulation of the blood, lymph and Qi (energy).

Cupping is also used to address sports injuries with The Australian Institute of Sport recognising its benefit in healing these types of injuries.

The purpose of cupping is to draw out wind, cold, dampness, or heat that are caused by pathogenic invasion. The technique of cupping causes a mild, pulling action on the skin which can be adjusted. The cups used can be made of rubber, silicon, bamboo or glass.

In this introductory workshop, participants will be shown how to use silicone cups safely to address injuries and congestion of ‘Qi’ in the meridians.

Participants will be required to bring 2 towels, 1 bath sheet, 2 hand towels, a notebook and pen, wear comfortable clothing and bring their own lunch.

Afternoon tea will be provided. Participants will receive 4 remedial cups and a certificate of completion at the end of the workshop.

Please note: Participants should have completed minimum of Certificate IV in Massage Therapy or a similar modality
